Testing Web Apps On The Cloud

Cloud Testing provides a new way of certifying a product’s performance. Simulating a user base with different OS and browsers is both time consuming and costly to do in house. So is simulating a load of 5000 users. The idea is to use the Cloud for doing this and running your tests from the cloud. Security is a concern for people as they do not want to risk putting a pre release version on the internet. Cloud Testing also provides a way around this with a Secure Tunnel from cloud to the in house infrastructure.

The thing to note is that Cloud Testing will always have cost associated with it, but this would be far less than doing it in house. Also, the time taken to setup these test beds requires a person with that kind of expertise.

The talk will focus on

  • What is Cloud Testing?
  • The different kinds of testing required
  • On Demand – Cross Browser Testing for User Acceptance
  • On Demand – Load and Performance Testing for SLA
  • Various online services which are available for Cloud Testing and their Comparison
